Healing damaged veins through radiofrequency energy treatment.

Are you living with the unrelenting symptoms of varicose veins or venous insufficiency? The team of vascular experts at our Vein Treatment Center in Texas offers a wide range of minimally invasive options, such as radiofrequency vein ablation treatment, to help alleviate symptoms and improve your vascular health.

Varicose veins are one of the most common venous conditions, and nearly 23% of U.S. adults will have them in their lifetime.

They can affect your self-esteem and physical well-being, especially if you experience chronic or life-changing symptoms that worsen during physical activity or everyday tasks.

Varicose veins are caused by venous insufficiency (e.g., abnormal vein function) and should be treated promptly to avoid worsening symptoms or long-term complications.

At Texas Endovascular, we understand how varicose veins and other vascular conditions affect your overall health.

The good news is our team of venous experts can reduce the appearance and symptom severity of venous conditions like varicose veins.

You don’t need to live with the painful symptoms of varicose veins or venous insufficiency. We’re here to help restore your vein health with effective treatments and compassionate care.

Let’s discuss radiofrequency vein ablation in more detail, including what it is, how it’s performed, and what you can expect after treatment.

What is Radiofrequency Vein Ablation (RFA)?

Radiofrequency vein ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive outpatient vascular procedure meant to stop global venous reflux down the leg to eliminate large varicose veins.

A sub-type of RFA treatment is considered as Radiofrequency Perforator Ablation (RPA) which specifically targets the short, horizontal "perforator veins" connecting the deep and superficial venous systems.

During RFA, a catheter is inserted into an abnormal vein, supplying it with heat energy, which closes it permanently.

RFA only requires a local anesthetic and leaves virtually no scar.

Patients generally experience little to no pain or downtime. They may also experience relief from their symptoms right away.

The procedure takes less than an hour, and most patients can resume normal activities immediately afterward.

Before performing a radiofrequency ablation, your doctor will perform a thorough medical examination, including a diagnostic ultrasound evaluation, to determine whether the procedure is appropriate for your unique situation.

Although primarily used for venous disorders, RFA has also been used to treat tumors, nodules, or other growths throughout the body.
