Yes. Dr. Patel is board-certified in both interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He completed fellowship training in vascular and interventional radiology at Baylor University Medical Center and later served as Chief of Interventional Radiology at Baylor Medical Center.

During his career, Dr. Patel has also trained medical students, residents and fellows, bringing extensive clinical and teaching experience to his patient care.

Dr. Patel specializes in image-guided, minimally invasive treatments for vascular disease and a growing range of conditions that can be treated through embolization.

His areas of expertise include:

• Varicose veins and venous insufficiency: Radiofrequency ablation and ambulatory phlebectomy

Many of these treatments are performed on an outpatient basis using real-time imaging and a small access point rather than traditional surgery

An interventional radiologist is a physician who specializes in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. Using real-time imaging, an interventional radiologist can guide small instruments through a tiny access point to diagnose or treat a condition.

Depending on the condition and procedure, this approach may offer an alternative to traditional surgery, with smaller incisions and less disruption to the body.

Dr. Patel brings more than 20 years of experience and more than 10,000 interventional procedures to his practice. His career includes building a hospital interventional radiology department and developing an outpatient interventional radiology practice in Dallas.

Your consultation is designed to answer two important questions: What is causing your symptoms, and what are your treatment options?

Dr. Patel reviews your medical history, prior imaging and other relevant records. When appropriate, he may perform an examination or ultrasound to better understand your condition. He then explains what he finds and discusses your options, including treatments he does not perform if another approach or specialist may be a better fit.
