Meet Dr. Eric Hardee

Co-founder of Texas Endovascular and medical director of the Katy clinic.
Dr. Hardee co-founded the practice in 2015 to give patients a real alternative to major surgery. A U.S. Navy veteran with nearly 30 years of experience, he treats the full range of conditions we see at the Katy clinic. Our physicians rotate between clinics, so ask when you call if you would like to see a specific doctor.

“Most people come to us after being told surgery is the only answer. Very often, it isn't. My job is to show you what's actually possible.”

Texas Endovascular - Katy FAQs

Common questions about our Katy clinic

Which doctors see patients at the Houston clinic?

Dr. Eric Hardee, a co-founder of Texas Endovascular and the clinic's medical director, leads the Katy clinic. He is a board-certified interventional radiologist. Our physicians rotate between clinics, so ask when you call if you would like to see a specific doctor.

What is interventional radiology?

Interventional radiology is a medical specialty that uses live imaging, such as X-ray and ultrasound, to guide thin catheters and needles inside the body. It lets physicians treat many conditions through a small puncture instead of an open incision, usually with local numbing and no hospital stay.

Is embolization considered surgery?

No. Embolization is done through a small puncture in the skin, using a thin catheter guided by imaging. There is no open incision, and most patients go home the same day.

What happens at my first visit?

Your first visit is a consultation with a board-certified interventional radiologist. You'll talk through your symptoms and medical history, review any imaging, and leave with a clear recommendation, which may or may not include a procedure.

How long is recovery after treatment?

Most patients go home the same day. Recovery depends on the procedure, and many people return to light activity within a day or two. Your care team will give you instructions for your specific treatment.

Do I need a referral?

Most patients can schedule a consultation without a physician referral. If your insurance plan requires one, our team will let you know when you call.

Does insurance cover treatment?

Texas Endovascular accepts Medicare and most major insurance plans, which cover our treatments when they are medically necessary. Cosmetic treatments, such as spider vein sclerotherapy, are usually not covered. Our team verifies your benefits and explains what you can expect to pay before your procedure is scheduled.

Do you offer appointments in Spanish?

Yes. Spanish-speaking appointments are available at every Texas Endovascular clinic. Let our team know when you call.
