Our Dallas clinic continues the legacy of Dallas Fibroid Center, offering the same expert care under the Texas Endovascular name. For years, Dallas Fibroid Center has been the trusted destination for women seeking non-surgical fibroid treatment in North Texas—and that expertise lives on.
Uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) is our specialty. Unlike general radiology practices that perform UFE occasionally, our Dallas physicians have dedicated their careers to this procedure. Led by Dr. Jay Patel—a Dallas native with over 20 years of experience and former Chief of Interventional Radiology at Baylor Medical Center—our team has performed thousands of successful UFE procedures.
Our Dallas UFE success rates reflect this expertise:
By joining forces with Texas EVA, we've expanded our ability to serve you—access to a broader network of specialists and the same personalized care that made Dallas Fibroid Center the region's leading UFE practice.

Dr. Jay Patel is a Dallas native and board-certified interventional radiologist with over two decades of experience providing minimally invasive, image-guided care throughout the metroplex. Known for his technical precision, leadership in the field, and compassionate approach, Dr. Patel offers advanced vascular and embolization procedures that help patients avoid surgery and recover faster.
At Texas Endovascular, Dr. Patel specializes in outpatient treatments for uterine fibroids, vein disease, peripheral artery disease (PAD), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), hemorrhoids, and chronic joint pain. His approach combines leading technology with patient-centered care, empowering women to restore comfort, confidence, and long-term health.
Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he also completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency and served as Chief Resident. He then completed his Interventional Radiology fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center, refining his expertise in image-guided procedures.
Dr. Patel went on to serve as Chief of Interventional Radiology at Baylor Medical Center, where he established a state-of-the-art IR department and trained medical students, residents, and fellows in advanced interventional techniques—including UFE. Before joining Texas Endovascular, he co-founded and directed a successful outpatient interventional radiology practice in Dallas, pioneering office-based treatment pathways for complex vascular and embolization procedures.
His leadership and commitment to innovation have earned him recognition as:
"UFE is a highly advanced, non-surgical option for alleviating uterine fibroids and their symptoms. As a safe and extremely effective solution for symptomatic fibroids, UFE provides a more comfortable and significantly less invasive alternative to myomectomy or hysterectomy—helping women get back to their lives faster."
Uterine fibroid embolization is a minimally invasive, image-guided procedure that shrinks fibroids by blocking their blood supply—no surgery, no hysterectomy, no hospital stay required.
During UFE, an interventional radiologist guides a thin catheter through a small incision (at the wrist or groin) to the uterine arteries. Tiny particles are then delivered to block the blood vessels feeding your fibroids. Without blood flow, fibroids soften and shrink over the following months, and symptoms resolve.
UFE is performed in our accredited outpatient center—not a hospital. You arrive in the morning, have your procedure under light sedation, and return home the same day.
Fibroids affect up to 80% of women by age 50, but many don't realize their symptoms are treatable without major surgery. If you're experiencing any of the following, you may be a candidate for UFE:
Periods lasting longer than 7 days, soaking through pads or tampons hourly, passing large clots, or needing to double up on protection. Many women with fibroids develop anemia from chronic blood loss—leaving you exhausted before your day even starts.
That constant heaviness or bloating that won't go away. Pain during intercourse. Visible abdominal bulging that makes you look pregnant when you're not. Fibroids pressing on nerves can cause sharp, shooting pains.
Running to the bathroom constantly—or feeling like you can never fully empty your bladder. Constipation or painful bowel movements when fibroids press against your rectum. These symptoms can make Dallas commutes and long workdays miserable.
Missing work during your period. Canceling plans because you're afraid of bleeding through your clothes. Avoiding intimacy. Feeling like your body is controlling your life instead of the other way around.

Recovery after UFE at our Dallas clinic typically takes 1-2 weeks. Most women experience moderate cramping for 24-48 hours post-procedure, which we manage with prescribed pain medication. Most patients return to desk jobs within 5-7 days. Jobs requiring physical labor may require 2 weeks. Compare this to 6-8 weeks for hysterectomy recovery.
Texas Endovascular's Dallas clinic at 3920 W Wheatland Rd offers specialized UFE treatment led by Dr. Jay Patel, a Dallas native with 20+ years of experience, former Chief of Interventional Radiology at Baylor Medical Center, and recognized as a D Magazine Best Doctor and Texas Monthly Super Doctor. Most women with symptomatic fibroids are candidates for UFE. Ideal candidates have fibroids confirmed on imaging (ultrasound or MRI) and want to avoid surgery. A consultation with Dr. Patel or our team will determine if UFE is right for your specific situation. Schedule a consultation.
During the procedure, you'll be comfortably sedated. Afterward, most women experience moderate cramping—similar to menstrual cramps—for 24-48 hours. We provide pain management protocols to keep you comfortable. Most patients describe the discomfort as very manageable compared to surgical alternatives.
No. UFE targets only the blood supply to your fibroids—it does not affect your ovaries or hormone production. Your menstrual cycle continues, typically with significantly lighter periods once fibroids shrink.
Our Dallas physicians have performed thousands of UFE procedures with a 90%+ symptom relief rate, consistent with national outcomes from high-volume centers. Dr. Patel's 20+ years of experience, leadership as Chief of IR at Baylor, and recognition as a D Magazine Best Doctor and Texas Monthly Super Doctor reflect the level of expertise you'll receive.
UFE is primarily recommended for women who have completed childbearing. However, it does preserve the uterus entirely, and some women have had successful pregnancies after UFE. If future fertility is a priority, we'll discuss all your options—including UFE and myomectomy—during your consultation so you can make an informed decision
Ready to explore your options? Schedule a consultation with Dr. Patel and the Dallas Fibroid Center team. We'll review your imaging, discuss your symptoms, and help you understand whether UFE is the right treatment for you.
