Why joint health matters
Your joints are the foundation of movement and independence. When your joints are healthy, you can walk, lift, bend and perform daily tasks with ease.
But joint pain or dysfunction can dramatically affect your quality of life, limiting mobility and making routine tasks difficult.
At Texas Endovascular, we specialize in non-surgical joint care using advanced interventional radiology techniques. We want to help you regain strength, mobility and independence without the risks and recovery time of traditional surgery.
The role of joints in movement and independence
Your joints support your weight and enable smooth, coordinated movement every day. When your joints are healthy, they can help you stay active and engaged in work, hobbies and social activities.
How joint conditions affect daily life beyond pain
Joint conditions affect more than just pain. They can lead to fatigue, reduced strength and difficulty performing even the simplest tasks.
If left untreated, joint conditions like arthritis or tendonitis can limit your mobility, independence and overall quality of life.
According to the Osteoarthritis Action Alliance, over 32.5 million American adults have osteoarthritis (OA), which highlights the widespread impact of joint disease.

Minimally invasive joint treatments
The board-certified interventional radiologists specialize in minimally invasive embolization procedures and orthopedic surgery for joint conditions, such as:
- Genicular artery embolization (GAE) for knee OA
- Elbow embolization
What is embolization and how does it work?
In joint care, embolization is most often used to reduce inflammation and pain from OA, helping many patients delay or even avoid joint replacement surgery.
Using advanced imaging, a specialist guides a thin catheter into the affected blood vessel and releases tiny particles, called embolic agents. These particles block the vessel, helping to decrease inflammation, relieve pain, or stop abnormal bleeding without the need for traditional open surgery.
Benefits compared to traditional surgery
- Reduced risk of infection and complications
- Shorter recovery time
- Lower overall treatment cost (compared to surgery)
- Minimal scarring
Studies suggest that many people who undergo the GAE procedure may be able to delay, or even prevent, a total knee replacement. According to the Radiological Society of North America, only 5.2 percent of patients who underwent GAE required knee replacement within two years.
